First Father's Day for my husband. We didn't expect much, but we were pleasantly surprised. There was a lovely Father's Day Card with Baby GL's footprints. Also, he was given a card with Baby GL's photo. It was really wonderful. With the NICU being so large we didn't expect anything. It makes us feel a little more at home there knowing they thought of us.
Baby GL is doing well. We finally saw him awake today. It's been a whole week since I've seen his eyes. He has quite a bit of edema around the eyes and neck, but we are hopeful it will clear up soon. PT continues to give him the edema massages which he seems to really enjoy.
The plan is still to extubate soon. The hernia surgery is looking like it will be postponed. The lungs and eating are higher up in his list of important accomplishments. We are anxious to get him home so working on his breathing and getting his swallow study done will hopefully get us there.
