All good news. Baby GL is doing very well on the ventilator. He is continuously having his oxygen levels lowered with his great blood gases. His lungs are clear and puffed the way they should be. All the cultures/tests came back negative. Yesterday he had a blood transfusion which he needed. The blood is probably the reason he gained another 3oz. I think he has some fluid retention which as he loses the fluids he make fluctuate on his weight. I'm happy it's over 3 lbs, though. He's doing great. If he had a virus of some sort he's worked it out. His will stop his antibiotics and IV feedings and go back to milk. Hopefully by the weekend he'll have the breathing tube removed once again.
I am still suspicious of the immunizations but I also believe he was in need of a rest. Last week he was slowly showing signs of exhaustion and maybe he had a little cold coming on. If the immunizations were a factor I think it was just the icing that took him over the edge.
He had his routine eye exam this morning. Everything looks the same so the doc will come back in two weeks for another check. We are still going to be seeing an ENT but he will come to our NICU. We are happy not to have to put him through a transfer.
